Hello Friends, and welcome to week two of the One Room Challenge.

The painting process is well underway. It’s quite a fussy thing to deal with when you can’t empty the room of the furniture. I’m having to move pieces from one area of the room at a time to paint the walls and the ceiling in sections.

In the mean time, I’ve gone looking through some of my vintage crochet books. I wanted to find some doily and trim patterns that I could work up and put on throw pillows for my bed.

I love to upcycle and repurpose things, so I shop at thrift stores regularly. I often find partial, and sometimes even new, balls of crochet thread there. I dug through my stash of these treasures and found some white and pink that I’m using for this crochet project.

I plan to make two pillows with crocheted elements; one with this trim, and one with a pink doily on it. I dream of having more than those on my bed, but these two will have to do for now. I can always add more later, right?

I have also started on the lace curtains for my window. I won’t know the exact measurements that I’m going to use until the new hardware is installed, but there are things that I can do to prepare the lace ahead of time.

As I move the furniture around for the painting, I’m taking up this carpet. I’m sure it was a fabulous décor decision in its day, but it’s time for it to go.

That’s my update on progress with my bedroom refresh. I keep telling myself that this is one of those projects that seems like it’s a jumbled mess until it all comes together in the end. Right? Which is a good reason to have a Pinterest board for inspiration. I browse through mine daily in order to keep my vision fresh and focused. And let’s be honest, there’s usually a little squeeling over all the pretties, too.

If you haven’t already, check it our for yourself.

Thanks for stopping by! There are some fabulous makeovers going on this fall, so please make sure to check out all the other projects on the ORC Blog Link Up, and I’ll see you again next week
